On July 7, 2024 Koxa Dev Ops began observing CPU spikes related to our API monitoring service. On July 9 at 18:21 EDT, these processing spikes led to a monitoring outage in Accounting API and Company API.

Koxa Dev Ops was alerted and assessed the incident. We determined (a) the outage was limited to the API monitoring service (no client-facing functionality was effected) and (b) that the downstream API dependencies causing the spikes have additional monitoring in place, which enabled us to confirm they were not impacted.

Koxa’s API monitoring configuration was updated to remove this dependency from monitoring and the incident was resolved.
